RMS photo cards issued after July 1st 2015 expire after 3-years
RMS PHOTO CARD RENEWAL OPTIONS
OPTION 1 – for professional traffic control personnel
(This is the evidence based no training option)
$150 per card for Traffic Controller or Implement Traffic Control cards.
$270 to renew both Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control cards at the same time.
$300 to renew Work Zone Traffic Control Guidance Plan card.
To be eligible for this Option you must be able to:
- Produce your RMS Photo Card/s issued after 1 July 2015
- Cards must be current or recently expired (within 3 months)
- Provide written evidence of your on-road traffic control activity
- Provide an Employer Declaration
If you are not able to meet these requirements, then select OPTION 2.

OPTION 2 – for traffic control personnel who hold a photo card but don’t perform traffic control duties on a regular basis
$220 per Card or $400 to renew both Cards
To be eligible for this Option you must be able to:
- Produce your RMS Photo Card/s issued after 1 July 2015
- Cards must be still current or recently expired (within 3 months)
- Attend a half day refresher training
- (Theory questionnaire and practical activities)
