Traffic Control Training Courses

To become a fully qualified traffic controller who can work on a roadsite, you need 3 qualifications:

• Construction Induction Qualification known in NSW as the Construction White card.
• Traffic Controller Skill Set (To Control Traffic with a Stop/Slow Bat.)
• Traffic Management Implementer skill set.

Commonsense Safety Training run all of these courses as a combination, or individually.

2 Course Combo - Traffic Control + Implement:

• This course is delivered over two (2) days of face to face classroom training + live practical assessment.
• Traffic assessments held at least twice each week.
• Total course delivery time is twenty four (24) hours plus rest and lunch breaks as required by the conditions of delivery.
• Statement of Training issued at completion of classroom training allowing you to start work immediately.
• SafeWork NSW training card will be mailed by SafeWork NSW at completion of practical assessment.

3 Course Combo - Traffic Control + Implement + White Card:

• This course is delivered over three (3) days of face to face classroom training + live practical assessment.
• Traffic assessments held at least twice each week.
• Total course delivery time is thirty one (31) hours plus rest and lunch breaks as required by the conditions of delivery.
• Statement of Training issued at completion of classroom training allowing you to start work immediately.
• SafeWork NSW training card will be mailed by SafeWork NSW at completion of practical assessment.

Traffic Controller:

• This course is delivered over two (2) days of face to face classroom training + live practical assessment.
• Traffic assessments held at least twice each week.
• Total course delivery time is twelve (12) hours plus rest and lunch breaks as required by the conditions of delivery.
• Statement of Training issued at completion of classroom training allowing you to start work immediately.
• SafeWork NSW training card will be mailed by SafeWork NSW at completion of practical assessment.

Traffic Management Implementer:

• This course is delivered over two (2) days of face to face classroom training + live practical assessment.
• Traffic assessments held at least twice each week.
• Total course delivery time is twelve (12) hours plus rest and lunch breaks as required by the conditions of delivery.
• Statement of Training issued at completion of classroom training allowing you to start work immediately.
• SafeWork NSW training card will be mailed by SafeWork NSW at completion of practical assessment.

100 POINTS OF PHOTO ID IS REQUIRED BY SAFEWORK NSW.
Participants must provide 100 points of evidence to prove their identity before being able to attend the course.
Please note that non-Australian Driver’s Licences are not accepted.
A Statement of Attainment cannot be issued if participants are unable to provide valid forms of I.D and a valid USI.

Our training rooms comply with NSW Health social distancing requirements.

Please wear long pants, a long sleeve shirt and closed shoes (preferable hard caps).

High-Vis PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as vests and shoes are available for your use during the course or your can bring your own.

A USI (Unique Student Identifier) is a reference number that you create online which keeps a record of your training and qualifications attained in Australia.

All students undertaking nationally recognised training require a Unique Student Identifier (USI) in order to receive your qualification or statement of attainment.
